Registration is now open for the postgraduate course Statistical Data Analysis at the Sabato Institute.
March 3, 2026
This course is designed for professionals and undergraduate and graduate students who wish to acquire theoretical and practical tools for data analysis in science and engineering.
The course is taught by Dr. Diego Ravignani and Dr. Belén Andrada, from the Institute of Technologies in Detection and Astroparticle Physics (CNEA, CONICET, UNSAM). They will cover the fundamentals of probability, statistical inference, hypothesis testing, and data fitting, combining theory with practical exercises and the use of Python-essential tools for developing statistical judgment, analytical skills, and a solid foundation for working with experimental data.
The course begins on April 1 and will be held in person on Mondays and Wednesdays, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, at the Sabato Institute. The total workload amounts to 120 hours. This edition has a maximum capacity of 12 students; therefore, selection will be based on applicants’ qualifications. Registration will remain open until March 20, 2026, via the following form.
This training program began in 2020 as part of the Dual Degree PhD in Astrophysics at the Sábato Institute (CNEA–UNSAM). Since then, more than 150 participants have completed the course, and many have obtained academic credit for it at Argentine public universities.
